HOW DO I FIND ELISE LOUISE
WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE MY EYEBROW TATTOO PROCEDURE?

Please visit the Map page for directions on how to get to Elise Louise & where to park.

Get excited because your brows are about to look FABULOUS.

And also:

-Don’t pluck or wax eyebrow area for at least two days prior to the procedure. This is because plucking/waxing can cause swelling to the area which can affect results of the procedure.

-Don’t tint eyebrows for two weeks prior to the procedure if possible. This is so I can see your brows in their full glory to know exactly what I’m working with.

-Don’t drink alcohol or take aspirin for 48 hours before procedure.

-You need to keep your cosmetic eyebrow tattoo dry for up to 14 days after your procedure. I recommend washing your hair the night before your procedure & if you need to wash your hair during the healing stage I recommend getting it washed at a salon. Tell your hairdresser to avoid getting water on your brows. A 'brow visor' will be provided in your aftercare pack to help protect your brows if you'd prefer to wash your hair at home. When showering you need to protect your brows from water by avoiding water jets hitting the treated area. I recommend wearing a shower cap over your head & covering your eyebrows with the cap when showering.

-Face wipes will be your friend during healing as washing your face isn't recommended so that you keep your brows dry. Alternatively you can pick up the Cleanse & Polish Face Cloth by Elise Louise which replaces 1000 face wipes! It uses just water to clean and gently exfoliate your skin and is reusable up to 1000 times. Pick up in salon or buy online here.

-You will be given full aftercare instructions & aftercare kit at your procedure.

DOES IT HURT?!

This is the main question I get asked about cosmetic tattooing and honestly… if you’ve ever had waxing or eyebrow threading you will be surprised at how bearable the tattoo procedure is! But I'm not going to lie to you, it IS a tattoo, so there may be a little discomfort! But most clients are surprised at how bearable the procedure is and wished they hadn’t worried that it would hurt so that they could have had fabulous brows years ago! WHAT THE HELL IS THE SOFT POWDER BROW TATTOO?

Well I’m glad you asked. The Soft Powder brow is the newest tattooing technique. It has the same look as if you've powdered your brows in (hence the name). Using a cosmetic tattoo machine, hundreds of tiny dots of pigment are implanted into the skin, which after healing give the appearance of soft powder. If you usually powder or pencil your brows in each day, the Soft Powder brow is perfect for you. A long lasting technique that defines your brows while still looking natural. This technique suits all skin types, (including oily) as a cosmetic tattoo machine is used, not a handheld tool or microblade. If you have sparse eyebrows this is a great option, but also suits fuller brows wanting more definition. It’s my personal favourite & the type of cosmetic eyebrow tattoo I have. Brows will heal 30%-50% lighter & softer than when they are initially tattooed. Healing takes 1 - 2 weeks, with the true colour taking up to 4 weeks to come through. Please see examples from the gallery for how brows look when initially tattooed and after healing.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROPIGMENTATION (COSMETIC TATTOOING) AND MICROBLADING?

Microblading uses a hand tool called a microblade to create superficial hairstrokes in the skin. Micropigmentation uses a cosmetic tattoo machine, implanting colour into the lowest layers of the epidermis. This creates longer lasting colour compared to microblading and can be done on all skin types. Oily skin most often cannot hold microblading hairstrokes, due to excess sebum & larger pores not holding pigment in superficial layers of the skin. Microblading lasts between 3 - 12 months typically, whereas micropigmentation lasts approximately 12 months or more.

WHAT ARE PIGMENTS?

Pigments are the name for cosmetic tattoo colours. They are a different composition to body tattoo 'inks' & are designed to look soft & fade over time. I use pigments which contain NO black iron oxides. This is important as black iron oxides in pigments can give a pink or orange tone to brows over several years.

DO YOU ACCEPT CASH OR CARD?

I accept cash and all credit and debit cards.

HOW LONG DOES AN EYEBROW TATTOO LAST?

Your cosmetic eyebrow tattoo should last at least 12 months and often more, however this can vary depending on lifestyle, immune response and your individual metabolism. I recommend maintenance sessions yearly to keep your cosmetic eyebrow tattoo looking it's best!

WHAT'S THE HEALING PROCESS LIKE?

Your cosmetic eyebrow tattoo will somewhat dark post procedure, however don't worry this will fade during healing, which takes one to two weeks. You will be given aftercare cream with specific instructions on how to look after your cosmetic eyebrow tattoo. During the healing process at around day 5-7, the skin will start naturally exfoliating & the colour underneath the brows will at this point appear to be much lighter in comparison to the skin which is peeling off. So it can look patchy until it has all peeled which should be between 5-14 days. Once the brows have fully peeled they may appear too light, but your perfecting session allows the opportunity to add further density to the colour. The eyebrow colour takes up to 4 weeks to fully appear after the peeling and immune response has finished. We wait 6 weeks before your perfecting session so that the skin has completely healed & the true colour is visible.

See my healed work here.

WHY DO I NEED TWO SESSIONS FOR AN EYEBROW TATTOO?

Cosmetic tattooing is a two step process. The Perfecting Session allows the opportunity to perfect the shape, colour and density of the original session. There are many factors which influence pigment retention, making it hard to predict how well the pigment will hold after your first procedure. So we will make a follow-up appointment 6 weeks after your initial procedure to perfect and hold those beautiful new brows!

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CONSULTATION BEFORE TATTOOING?

After discussing your medical history to make sure you are able to have cosmetic tattooing, hand drawing and measuring the perfect shape of your eyebrow will take place. We also assess your unique skin tone to determine the best pigment colour for your cosmetic eyebrow tattoo. I take a lot of time during the consultation to discuss results, your aftercare & to make sure you are completely happy with your eyebrow shape before we go ahead with your procedure.
